G.S. Polishing are specialist metal polishers based in Rochester, Kent. Gavin Sowter is the main polisher and has over 14 years experience in the metal polishing industry.
We specialise in the polishing and restoration of motorcycle and car parts from vintage to custom, to show standards. Many other types of work are also undertaken such as Antiques, Ornamental and Architectural items made from any metal.
We take great pride in our work and started business through word and mouth alone, repeat customers are highly valued by us as we believe in producing the highest quality of work possible.
We can polish all types of metal to a mirror or satin finish. Please note we do not offer any chroming service, all of the items in our photo gallery are polished only.

Motorcycle parts
Motorcycle parts metal polishing These engine casings and cam cover were severely corroded when they came in, they are off a 1976 Honda CB750 F1 after degreasing, the corrosion was cut back using various abrasive techniques, and then polished to a show standard mirror finish. In total it took five different processes to achieve this, the customer couldn’t believe how well they came out. We can polish any aluminium, alloy or stainless steel part on your bike or trike whether its engine casings, frames, swing arms, wheels, hubs, brake callipers, yokes, etc, factory or custom made, vintage, classic or custom bike parts are all welcome. |
Car parts Car parts metal polishing This Nissan 300ZX plenum air chamber started life as cast aluminium. The customer wanted a show standard polishing job, and that’s exactly what he got. We got into every nook and cranny; the rough cast was removed and smoothed over using various abrasive techniques and then polished to a show standard mirror finish. We can polish any aluminium, alloy or stainless steel part on your car or in your engine bay, inlet manifolds, cam covers, rocker covers, wheels, heat shields, turbo pipes, s/steel bumpers and trims or any other part that you might want mirror polished, classic or custom. |
Antiques
Antique metal polishing and restoration These large French searchlights came in as rough cast aluminium. They were first dismantled, parts of the casting were broken so were welded back into position before the polishing process began. All of the parts were cut back and then polished to a mirror finish, after which they were re-assembled using some new fixings where appropriate.
